Amparo Salcedo Romero
Amparo Salcedo Romero was born in Rome-Italy, 1980.
In 1989 she moved Bolivia were she obtain a High school Degree with honors and IB Certificates, Art already then became her strongest field, she stand up with 7/7, more than 20 artworks, and a high school exhibition contributing to human rights representing American International School of Bolivia and the department of art at Expo Cochabamba, 1997.
In 1998 she enroll with a scholarship to Monmouth College, Monmouth Illinois. She Major in Studio Art, during those four years and a half of college studies, she participated in exhibition and Competitions held by the institution and around the area, she also was chosen to lend a painting for an event to Quinby House, the President of Monmouth College.
At the end of 2003 she return to Italy then she left to London, UK. She was few months later accepted at the University of Westminster to start her MA Art and Media Practice. The same year she also took a Certificate in Art Management at the University of Middlesex. This year her artwork extended to a more performative approach of body, kinetic painting and space. In 2004, she had two group exhibitions with female international students at 291 Gallery called I Axis and Flesh Exits at Lennox Gallery.
In 2005 she left London to live in Prague, CZ. There she worked for Prague Biennale 2, by Giancarlo Polity. She was a Assistant Manager. Her direct exposure, to artist, dealers, institutions, and more gave her the possibility to develop her interest to be involved in the art working force.
At the end of the year 2005, she had an exhibition of photography called 'United Through' at Alla Stella Nera Gallery in Prague.
Currently she is living in Hilversum- Holland working as a volunteer in PR at GSA gallery, were she also exhibited.
